Can't Let Go 03:22
Can’t Let Go Verse1: I don't wanna know Whose hand you hold On my own I can do no wrong Even though I'm trying hard Verse2: There are plans, still can be drawn If I concentrate Maybe there is hope It's just a state of mind Chorus1: Stuck on you, you're all better Casting me off like a torn up sweater Wakin’ up, to the fact We are over now And I just can't let go Don’t, don’t, don’t let go (2x) No, no, no Verse3: Sometimes I don't mind Loneliness isn’t it a crime There’s just no way to survive Pre-chorus: Lines on the mirror Lines on my face won't fade And after all these years I guess I need more time to heal Chorus2: Stuck on you, you're all better Casting me off like a xmas sweater Wakin’ up, to the fact We are over now And I just can't let go (Pre-chorus) (Chorus 1)

about

Cosmic Hearts EP is a collection of nu-disco, indie pop songs with house music and reggae elements thrown in for an eclectic and exciting mix of uplifting and emotionally-charged songs.

"Cosmic Hearts" is about longing for someone's awareness and love. Visualizing oneself as a singular object in space, pulling in the attention of another in your direction. Imagining the desired future situation. Musically it is a thumping slice of nu disco goodness, with vocal adlibs weaving into the guitar hook reminiscent of Daft Punk and The Weeknd.

"Can't Let Go" is about heartbreak and longing. Wistful feelings and perhaps a fools hope of getting back to an emotional place in time that perhaps is now only reachable through memory.

"Prayin'" is a mid-tempo, groove-oriented indie pop track with electro bass, reggae guitar and horns. Lyrically it's about not giving up, feeling love for humanity and what we can achieve with a bit of care and cooperation.
The initial song idea was co-written with Inaya Day. Once we got to the recording stage C Jolene Melton added her spin to the vocal melodies turning up the urgency of the lyrics with her passionately explosive performance.

"Higher Higher" is a mostly instrumental dance track built upon a breath sample. It's about the idea of using the breath to get high in a natural way.
Vocals are sampled and tweaked from Prayin'.

“Back to Earth” is nu disco jam with a pulsating bass line propelling the deep club groove. Sweeping synths lift up the seductive vocal melodies. Lyrically the song is about deep romantic fantasies, opening up a world of possibilities and making them come true.
